Illuminex Corporation is actively seeking a Technician to work on Nanofabrication in the company’s research laboratory. Illuminex Corporation is an early stage company working on nanowire device technologies. The successful applicant will have experience and/or training in chemical processing techniques for nanofabrication and general experience working in an analytical chemistry laboratory environment, or related experience in electro-chemistry or electro-plating, electron microscope experience, chemical vapor deposition, vacuum systems and further posses good writing and computer skills, data acquisition and analysis abilities, and the desire to learn new experimental, test and measurement techniques. Other relevant experience would include be knowledge of chemistry, physics, materials science and characterization, electrical engineering and electronics, circuit design, and computer control of instrumentation. The job duties will include performance of tests, measurements, and engineering of nanowires, nanostructures and nanotechnology enabled devices, data acquisition, data analysis, project reporting, general laboratory set up and maintenance, chemical processing, equipment design and implementation, electrical repair, inventory maintenance and upkeep, cleaning and other duties. An understanding of safety in the laboratory is an absolute requirement. The primary responsibility of the successful applicant will be nanowire fabrication and analysis.
